FAQ's

Please read through these questions and answers. If you have questions that are not clear after reading the following items, please feel free to email us at cinematickeepsake@gmail.com with anything you'd still like to know about our services or coverage.

Q: What will my finished film look like?
A: Your disc will have two parts.  There will be a short film which includes the ceremony in its entirety along with establishing footage of bride and groom before and after, guests, and your ceremony location.  The Reception will be broken into pieces - each separate event you have planned (first dance, parent dances, cake, garter, whatever key events take place at your reception) and an overview piece covering guests, socializing, dancing, and establishing coverage of the space and decorations.  Each item from the reception can be navigated to through your disc menu, or you will be able to play them in sequence, like watching a film.

Q: How long will it take you to edit my footage?
A: Our standard turn-around is 60 days.  If you want your disc guaranteed to be completed faster, we can guarantee that it will be finished within 3 weeks for an expediting fee of 25% of your total cost.

Q: How do payments work?
A: Your total cost with us is broken into three payments, to ease the burden of cost at a time when you are budgeting for many services.  An initial deposit of 25% reserves your dates with us.  Your second deposit of 50% is due 30 days prior to your wedding.  Your final payment, due 30 days after your wedding,  will be 25%, or whatever is due on your balance if you have changed your package/upgrades.  Final materials will not be delivered until all payments have been made in full.

Q: You have a lot of options, what if I change my mind about what I want?
A: You can renew your contract with us up to one week before your ceremony, and we will simply roll your payments over to the new contract.  This way, you can reserve our services with a deposit toward basic coverage of your event (to make sure we have your date in our calendar) and then decide which upgrades and options you want as you get closer to your wedding.  Our minimum deposit toward basic coverage is $150.

Q: Who will be at my wedding?
A: For 99% of the filming we do, it is the owners of the company (Jay and Courtney - you can read more about us here) are the ones filming.  Very rarely, when there is a scheduling conflict, we will rely on trusted freelance cinematographers with whom we have an established working relationship, and who we know we can count on.  We never work with anyone we don't know personally or trust fully to represent us in the way they interact with you - our clients - or in the quality of footage they produce.

Q:Will you film everything at the reception?
A: We will film everything on your agenda, and any additional footage we judge to be important for capturing the day.  We cannot guarantee we will have cameras running at all times, or capture every single moment.  We will capture everything you ask for - if Great Aunt Mavis is on the dancefloor, and you really want to have it included in your coverage, just let us know or have someone from your wedding party let us know and we'll make sure to get it on camera.  We will stay in touch with you and your family/wedding party throughout the day to make sure we're catching the moments that will be important for you.
